Enhancing our commitment to innovation and continual safety and technology improvement, Ranger Drilling has delivered our latest drill rig to the field.

img_0316-300x225The machine is a DRA 600-E mounted on an all-wheel drive MAN truck.

The rig comes complete with the normal capacities of a DRA 600 rig, CAT C27 engine, 1350cfm @ 500 psi compressor, work at heights access and static lines, auto mast lock, anti-collision systems, and drill monitoring equipment.

The rig stands out with innovative usage of developing remote control capabilities. The KL rod handler and rig set up functions are remotely controlled using radio remote units to ensure that our people are removed from any line of fire hazards related to these activities.

The rig operation itself is via an umbilical remote control panel that removes the operator from exposures to excessive noise, dust and vibration. The machine can be operated from the remote console at a distance up to 10 metres from the rig. The use of cameras allows the operator to view the rig table and ensure that the machine remains efficient in its operations.
