Banksia Athletics Mentoring Program

August 30, 2018

Ranger Drilling is proud to sponsor the Banksia A.M.P. (Athletics Mentoring Program) for a second year, which is run by Graeme Watson at the Carey Right Track Foundation.

This an 8-10 week program for young people sentenced at Banksia Hill Juvenile Detention Centre.

It involves one-on-one mentoring led by Kenzie Dann along with a team of volunteer mentors who work with a young person, exploring topics such as identity, culture, anger, substance abuse, violence, as well as hope and future plans.

Banksia A.M.P runs in connection with an athletics program that aims to develop the natural physical talent, as well as to empower participants with coaching knowledge and skills that will help them connect with local athletics clubs upon release.

At the end of the programme, the group creates a singlet design which is then produced and given to each of the participants.

 this is the 2018 design.
